Layout="TableBased" Broken?

Is Layout="TableBased" broken in the latest version?

After following the advice in this postabout layouts& no doc types however it doent seem to change the render type and i still have the alignment issue :(

I forgot to say this is for the calinder thats in a master page with a table in it.

It should work like in the previous versions. But remember that it's not a cure for everything, see the compatibility overview at the bottom of this page:
