When selecting a date range in week calendar, firefox returns weird date

When I am selecting a date range in safari, it formats the date like... December 6, 2010 12:45:00 PM EST In Firefox 3.6.12 it returns it like... Mon Dec 6 12:45:00 2010 My SQL server is rejecting firefox but accepting safari. How do I make the date just work, even in Firefox?
