Drop down for 'name' in calendar

Question: Can the monthly/daily/weekly view be changed so that an entry on a calendar date reflects a drop down box instead of a free text box for 'name'? The data element in the EVENT database is called "name". Basically, I would like to pre-populate the 'name' text box with a drop down box with a list of names.
